The Promise

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our short film, “The Promise.” More than just a cinematic creation, it stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a beacon of hope in a world often shrouded in darkness. Directed by the visionary Arun Bose, who perceives the world through a unique lens, “The Promise” reminds us that limitations are but obstacles waiting to be surmounted. Through the perspective of the visually impaired, we are invited to see with our hearts, experiencing the power of storytelling in its purest form.

This groundbreaking project saw significant contributions from our visually impaired friends. Arun Bose’s direction has made him Asia’s first visually impaired director. Four of our visually impaired friends—Anil Kumar MK, Sreeju, Saneesh Sadanand Karivelloor, and Sudheesh K—crafted the story, while three of them—Sreekumar, Shaliq S Mohammad, and Noufal Akbar—brought it to life with their performances in leading and supporting roles. The heartfelt dialogues were penned by Aradya.

This project focuses on nurturing the acting, direction, and script-writing skills of Visually Impaired people in India. The project is divided into three phases—Community theatre, Short Film Making, and Film Making—it provides a comprehensive platform for artistic growth.

Through this initiative, we have trained 21 visually impaired artists in a community theatre workshop. Together, they have created two captivating dramas and presented to a large audience at Loyola Campus Sreekaryam.

And it received a large round of appreciation. Now it is ready to perform for a larger audience in the different parts of Kerala.

Tare Zameen Par

This project is dedicated to empowering visually impaired children and youth through mobility, accessibility, and responsibility. It includes life skills training, mobility training, dance practice, drama training, music training, blind sports, exciting trips, science exhibitions, and communication skills development. Inauguration and valedictory events further highlight the impact of this project.

Tifanny Brar, the visionary founder of Jothirgamaya Foundation and National Award winner, inaugurated the empowering self-shopping event. With boundless enthusiasm, 35 visually impaired children joyfully participated, each receiving a 500 Rs gift voucher courtesy of LuLu Mall. This heartwarming initiative brought smiles and independence to these remarkable young souls.

ARTARIUM

A Vibrant Art Exhibition at LuLu Mall Trivandrum, featuring talented painters’ masterpieces. Ether India proudly secured a space to showcase the incredible work of visually impaired artists, offering them a platform to exhibit their artistic brilliance to the world.

Three talented visually impaired artists from Thrissur and Kozhikode districts in Kerala showcased their exceptional craftworks at the Artarium. They had the opportunity to sell their products as well. Despite limited time, the event provided a memorable experience for these artists. Inspired by Artarium, they went on to organize numerous exhibitions across different parts of Kerala.
